Youth Visit to Tunisia 2008

Laura Knowles and Jo Lawton attended a course in Tunisia with 5 others from the TUC Yorkshire and Humberside region last year.

The primary purpose of the seminar was to build links between the TUC and the UGTT (General Trade Union of Tunisia) in areas of common concern to both groups, specifically women and young members.

This course in Tunisia was the first step in a larger plan to work together in future. We are hoping to implement a joint Day of Unity for workers' rights, where activities would be held both here and Tunisia and invite the delegates from Tunisia to the North East.
