A Future That Works – TUC National Rally for Young People
The preface to the TUC's visible response to the Tory led government attack on on workers and young people is about to begin with the TUC national rally for young people.
The rally is labelledas "A Future that Works". The status quo can't continue, we currently have record numbers of young workers unemployed, the employment rate for 16-24 year olds currently stands at 951,000, 20.3% of the workforce. The abolition of the Future Jobs Fund and EMA means that students are facing massive debts, with many young people being put off from going to university altogether.
The rally is a chance to say that we are not prepared to pay for the economic crisis. We expect a good turn out for the rally and I would expect every CWU activist who can make it to attend.
The rally will take place on Saturday, 29th January at Platts Field Park in Manchester. Assemble at 12:30pm as the rally will start at 1pm.
I hope to see you all there.
