Interns exploited

Amidst fears that one in three interns is being exploited through unpaid work, the TUC launched a new website at the end of March aimed at helping these young people find out more about their rights at work.

Launched as the annual Young Members Conference got under way in Birmingham on 26 March, the TUC website is part of the trade union Next Generation campaign which aims to secure a better deal for young people at work. It explains what rights interns should expect, allows them to share their experiences and outlines the benefits of joining a union.
