After starting off my working life as a PCS member where I was a branch secretary and activist in its fledgling young members network, I now work for the Organising Department of the CWU. Much of our time is spent working with members in companies without recogntion agreements as we try to encourage and coach them to build a union in their workplace. However, there is potential for every part of the union to be better organised and our department is always there to work with YACs, youth officers, and branches who have identified an organising need. I hope some of my blog posts will start a discussion on how we organise better and share best practice.
